Derived from a specific block featuring 30-year-old vines within the renowned vineyard, this wine epitomizes the potency of aged Washington Cabernet. Meticulously chosen through barrel selection, it challenges the notion of Bordeaux blends, opting for a compelling 100% varietal Cabernet in this wine. With a belief in its exceptional nature growing throughout barrel tastings, a limited quantity was produced. Despite being a varietal Cabernet, it remains a blend and selection, sourced from the upper section of the vineyard with lower yields and impoverished soils, ensuring heightened concentration. Trials with various French oak barrels led to the introduction of 100% new French oak for the first time at Avennia, contributing to the wine's substantial character. While a brief period of cellaring is recommended, this wine promises enduring quality over the years.
