Av Bodeguers Nereus Garnatxa Negra is a captivating expression of the Empordà appellation, born from meticulously cultivated 20-year-old organic Garnacha vines certified by the CCPAE. Nestled at 200 meters in Rabós d’Empordà, these vineyards thrive in nutrient-poor llicorella slate soils, where double cordon royat trellising ensures optimal sun exposure and grape quality. Hand-harvested in 20 kg boxes at peak phenolic ripeness, the grapes are carefully sorted in the vineyard. Winemaking showcases precise craftsmanship, from controlled stainless-steel fermentation with tailored yeast selections and gentle extraction techniques to spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Aged a minimum of 12 months in French oak barrels, this wine rests an additional 6 months in the bottle, delivering a refined, character-rich experience that reflects the dedication of Av Bodeguers.
