WINE DESCRIPTION
The Two Birds Vineyard, one of four estate vineyards, derives its name from Proprietors Al and Janis McWilliams, endearingly referred to as "bird" by each other. Established in 2007, this three-acre vineyard hosts three Pinot Noir clones: Pommard, Swan, and Calera. Its well-drained Loam and Clay Loam soil, a subset of the Sobrante Soil series, results from weathered sandstone, ideal for premium grape cultivation. With a vine spacing of 4' x 7', over 1800 vines per acre ensure even ripening. Only a select few barrels from the vineyard contribute to the Two Birds Vineyard blend, while others enhance the Longbow and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir blends.
