WINE DESCRIPTION
Alto de la Ballena Tannat - Merlot - Cabernet Franc is an unoaked red blend from the Maldonado region in Southern Uruguay. This picturesque region benefits from the cooling influence of the Atlantic Ocean. This moderating effect helps extends the growing season and allows the grapes to achieve full flavor ripeness without excessive sugar accumulation. The vineyard features a combination of clay and limestone soils, which further helps delay ripening in this warm climate. Vinification and maturation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to best retain fruit character.

Alto de la Ballena Tannat - Merlot - Cabernet Franc has a medium ruby color.This wine offers an array of ripe dark fruits, such as blackcurrant, blackberries and plums, accompanied by subtle floral undertones reminiscent of violets. There are also hints of green bell pepper with gives an uplifting vegetal character. The palate is rich and medium-bodied, with firm tannins that provide framework to the flavors of black cherries, blackcurrants, and herbaceous notes.
