NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Almaviva EPU is an exceptional wine that showcases the best of Chilean winemaking. This red blend is a collaboration between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Concha y Toro, two renowned wine producers. The wine is named after the Almaviva estate, which is located in the Maipo Valley of Chile. On the nose, Almaviva EPU offers a complex bouquet of ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and blackcurrants, accompanied by notes of cedar, tobacco, and a hint of vanilla. The aromas are intense and inviting, promising a rich and satisfying tasting experience. The palate of Almaviva EPU is equally impressive, with a full-bodied and velvety texture. The flavors of dark fruits continue to dominate, complemented by layers of spices, chocolate, and a touch of earthiness. The wine displays excellent balance, with well-integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish. Almaviva EPU is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but it also has great aging potential. It pairs wonderfully with grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. Serve it at around 18°C (64°F) to fully appreciate its complexity and depth.
