Airfield Estates Chardonnay

Airfield Estates crafts a Chardonnay that captures the essence of Washington State. This thoughtful blend marries elegance with vibrancy. Approximately half of the wine was in stainless steel, preserving the juicy fruit character. The remaining part was matured in French oak barrels, both new and older, adding complexity and richness. Ripely harvested grapes are gently pressed to maintain their freshness. Fermentation occurs partly in cool stainless steel tanks, emphasizing fruit purity. The rest undergoes a warmer fermentation in oak, fostering deeper flavors. Malolactic fermentation, meticulously monitored, enhances the wine's structure without masking the fruit. Lees stirring in both tanks and barrels refines the texture, creating a well-rounded and balanced Chardonnay.
