Wine Description:
Acre Zinfandel is a red wine produced in the Oakville AVA of the Napa Valley. This is an unusual appellation in which to find Zinfandel due to the popularity of Cabernet Sauvignon. In fact, this was the last Zinfandel to be planted in the region. The vineyards are certified as being farmed according to organic principles. The sun causes thicker skins and creates a more grippy style of California Zinfandel. The result is a full bodied wine with notes of fig, cherry and cinnamon that is a good choice for any advocate of Zinfandel who may enjoying trying examples of the grape for lesser known origins.
Pros:
  • Rich and full-bodied with a deep, concentrated flavor profile.

Rodney Strong Old Vines Zinfandel hails from Northern Sonoma, USA, crafted by the esteemed Rodney Strong Vineyards. The appellation's diverse microclimates and well-drained soils contribute to the complexity of this wine. Sourced from old-vine Zinfandel vineyards, some dating back over a century, the grapes benefit from deep root systems and low yields, resulting in concentrated flavors. The winemaking process involves careful selection of fully ripe fruit, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and aging in oak barrels to enhance richness and structure. The wine boasts bold flavors of blackberry, dark cherry, and spice, with a velvety texture and a lingering finish, epitomizing the quintessential character of Sonoma Zinfandel.
