San Antonio Valley is a relatively new wine region located in Chile near the Pacific coast, 80km (50 miles) west of Santiago. San Antonio Valley has a long and storied history of winemaking. The region was first established in the late 19th century by French immigrants who brought with them their knowledge and expertise in winemaking. Since then, the region has become one of the most important wine-producing regions in Chile.
San Antonio Valley is known for quality Pinot Noir and white wines including Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, as well as some Syrah.
San Antonio Valley is home to some of Chile's most renowned winemakers, including Viña Santa Rita, Viña Concha y Toro, and Viña San Pedro.
San Antonio is just a few miles from the ocean. This proximity to the coast creates a unique microclimate that is cooler and more humid than other wine regions in Chile.
