Arguably, Napa Valley is the most renowned American region, best known for its boutique wineries and quality. Famous most of all for their Burgundian-styled Chardonnays and bold, yet graceful, Cabernet Sauvignons, wine lovers can explore an enormous variety of styles. The region won acclaim at the 'Judgement of Paris' in 1976, when Steven Spurrier pitted the most celebrated Bordeaux houses against top Napa Valley producers. Today, American wines have a pretty wide footprint in the global wine landscape.
