The wines produced from Mauzac Blanc tend to be light and aromatic, and are often blended with Chardonnay. Mauzac Blanc is used in the production of a range of wines, from sparkling wines to dry white table wines. In the Gaillac and Limoux regions, it is used to make light-bodied, aromatic wines that are a blend of Mauzac Blanc and other grape varieties, such as Chardonnay ot Chenin Blanc. Mauzac Blanc pairs well with a variety of lighter dishes, such as grilled seafood and white meats. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif.
French plantings of Mauzac Blanc have slowly declined over the last decade, from 8,511 ha (21,031 acres) in 1958 to 1,991 ha (4,920 acres) in 2009.
