Gamay Teinturier de Bouze

Gamay Teinturier de Bouze

Gamay Teinturier de Bouze is a red grape variety discovered in the 19th century near the village of Bouze, Burgundy. It is believed to be a mutation of the Gamay grape or a descendant of a Gamay x Teinturier du Cher cross. Known for its early maturation, it is considered a 'semi-Teinturier' as it produces wines with less color than its mutation, Gamay Teinturier de Chaudenay. It is susceptible to diseases like botrytis and wood diseases and is mainly cultivated in Burgundy.
