Galatena

Galatena is a rare Italian red grape variety. It is not present in any ampelographic source and further studies would be needed to ascertain any kinship with other Italian varieties

Galatena is grown and produced by a single producer, Salvatore Geraci, in the Faro area in the province of Messina, Sicily. It is included as a minor component in the DOC Faro composed mainly of Nerello Mascalese and in the IGT Rosso del Soprano.
